The Stride Center is a nonprofit social venture that is empowering economic self-sufficiency for individuals and communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through our programs, we are harnessing the power of technology to help low income men, women and families. The Stride Center prepares its adult students for professional, well-rounded careers in the information technology field. Men and women come to the Stride Center from all around the Bay Area to learn new skills that will allow them to achieve their goals of finding well paying, vibrant new careers. The Stride Center’s career training program surrounds participants with a comprehensive array of resources and an award winning curriculum, ensuring that graduates can compete and thrive in their new career. The Stride Center also operates its own technology consulting business called ReliaTech. ReliaTech generates jobs and internships for Stride Center graduates and students, revenue to sustain our nonprofit mission and brings affordable, local technology solutions to the community. The Stride Center’s programs are working! Over 80% of our students complete their courses, and over 90% of job ready graduates are going to work earning $18 to $25 per hour in entry level positions. We have delivered over 1000 high quality, free or low cost computers to our communities, and are providing tech support to thousands of men, women and families in the communities we serve. Through The Stride Center’s programs, we substantially increase employment readiness and access by providing low-income and underprivileged adult students with the technical job training, professional and career development skills and one on one job placement assistance. The Stride Center surrounds students with a comprehensive array of curriculum and resources, ensuring that graduates can compete in the job market and are successful and thriving in their new career. The Stride Center has developed and continuously improves a curriculum and teaching staff that responds to the unique circumstances of men and women who face barriers to employment and delivers a successful method of training, a professional environment for learning and a proven, comprehensive learning model that helps these deserving, capable people gain jobs, self respect and financial independence.
